PREPARATION
How to Prepare for Your Vehicle Shipment
Proper preparation helps ensure a smooth pickup and reduces the chance of delays or unexpected charges. Please follow these guidelines before your scheduled transport date.
STEP ONE
Prepare Your Vehicle
A little prep goes a long way toward a fast, clean pickup.
Wash & Inspect
Clean the exterior a day or two before pickup. A clear car makes the pre-loading inspection more accurate.
Personal Belongings
Remove personal items, or notify us in advance if leaving any. Undisclosed items found at pickup can mean extra charges for unexpected weight that wasn't calculated.
Remove or Disable
- Aftermarket alarms (or share the deactivation code)
- Loose accessories (racks, roof boxes, spoilers, antennas)
Fuel & Charge Levels
Gas or Diesel: Leave at least a quarter (¼) tank.
EV: Charge to at least a 30-50%. Provide it enough power to load and unload, without excess weight.
Mechanical Check
- Battery charged, starts and runs (unless stated as an inoperable)
- Tires properly inflated
- No significant fluid leaks
- Fold in side mirrors if possible
Low Clearance & Modified Vehicles
Sports cars, lowered suspension, front splitters, or other mods? Let us know in advance so we assign a carrier with the right equipment.
STEP TWO
Prepare Yourself and Your Contact Person
A few quick things to have ready on pickup and delivery day.
Accurate Contact Info
Provide accurate contact information for both pickup and delivery locations.
Be Available
Be available (or designate someone) during the agreed pickup and delivery windows. Drivers often work within a several-hour window rather than an exact time.
Sign the Bill of Lading
Review and carefully sign the Bill of Lading (condition report) at both pickup and delivery. The driver will document the vehicle's condition at both ends.
PLEASE NOTE
Delays can occur due to unexpected traffic, weather, truck or trailer mechanical issues, or other factors outside anyone's control. Additionally, most trailers carry multiple vehicles with different pickup and delivery locations, terms, conditions, and hours of operation. These variables can also impact timing. We will keep you informed as updates become available and appreciate your flexibility.
